Every month, there are hundreds of national and international celebrations dedicated to raising awareness and support for meaningful causes and topics. It can be difficult to keep up with them all, but if you focus on identifying a few meaningful and relevant topics for the month, it can help guide lessons and real-life applications for your students.

This video will grab your students' attention as they learn about Dr. King's contributions to the people of the United States and those living throughout the world. They will learn about King's childhood experiences with prejudice, his ability to speak in front of others, his commitment to nonviolence, and finally why it is so important to follow his message of hope and peace.

Sending love and laughter to you all.
“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” - John Steinbeck. We are seeing beautiful snow-covered mountains and hilltops all across the nation. The winter weather has made its presence known with record rain and snowfall in numerous cities and regions around the United States.
We hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday full of laughter and joy. The staff here at ClassOrbit, wants to extend our gratitude for our loyal educators, students, and community members for all your continued support throughout the years. We cannot put into words the appreciation we have for you all! As we all know, the holiday season is full of activities, but it is the perfect chance to stay in a season of gratitude. It is a chance to re-energize your body and mind, refocus on personal goals, and reconnect with what matters in your life. Bring the kids and students in your life into the mix by embracing this season of gratitude. Here are some creative ways to stay in a present state of appreciation:
November is National Gratitude Month and it provides us with the opportunity to actively embrace the power of gratitude. Gratitude is so much more than simply saying “thank you”. Reflecting on that for which we are grateful, is an important way for people to feel satisfaction with themselves and their current state, rather than dissatisfaction with what they don’t have. Practicing daily gratitude or “thankful thinking” gives us a deeper connection to ourselves, builds better interpersonal relationships, helps us develop stronger bonds with others, and connects us to the world around us.
As we look at the vibrant leaves and breathe in the brisk air outside, it is evident fall has arrived and is planning to stay. As so many of us educators experience, the cooler air that fall and winter brings can often affect our immune systems and bring about increased susceptibility to colds and flu. Teaching about germs and reinforcing the concept of handwashing can evolve into an entire week-long science series.
At ClassOrbit, our team works hard to make sure you have engaging videos and content to enhance your lesson plans and the learning experiences for your students.
Crisp Air, Cool Breeze, Fall Leaves - These are just some of the things Autumn brings! Welcoming in a new season is always so refreshing, especially when it’s one with promises of cooler weather and beautiful changes in landscapes. As an educator, it also brings about a vast amount of exciting lesson plan ideas and learning experiences for our students.
Our team here at ClassOrbit is sending our well wishes to all of our families who are impacted by Hurricane Ian. As many of you are dealing first-hand with Mother Nature’s force; others of us are watching updates and offering support from afar.
School is back in action! The excitement and butterflies that come with starting the first few weeks of school is felt by students and teachers alike.
The other week I wrote about making learning relevant. Every educational experience has the potential to help your learners make sense of the world. Students want to learn about things that have an impact on their everyday lives.
Farmer's markets, for me, are one of the highlights of the summer season. There’s nothing that compares to eating as you shop, gathering your fresh fruits, veggies, and proteins for the week! Even better, you get the opportunity to have real conversations with the local farmers and vendors who set up booths for their produce or locally handcrafted products.
With so much going on in our world right now, especially here in the United States, we are at a time where we must focus on what we can do in our daily lives to better the communities around us and continue to build our global perspective.
The 4th of July is upon us! Holidays are always a wonderful way to bring together friends and family to catch up and make new memories. Plus, the 4th of July is a day off from work which gives you extra time to soak up the sun and community celebrations.
Summer has officially begun and is one of the best times of the year to star-gaze and explore the magnificence of our solar system. In fact, the month of June is the ideal opportunity to see all five planets aligned together in the night sky in what is referred to as the “Planet Parade”.
The Internet along with online programs and apps can be wonderful tools for kids. They can use these tools to research people or topics, communicate with experts or their peers, and continue sharpening their skills… especially while away from school during these summer months.
Summer vacation is long anticipated by most people, but especially for those in a school setting, like students and educators. Summertime brings about the promise of warmth and relaxation. However, for some, it has the potential to bring about feelings of being overwhelmed or losing control.
It can be tough keeping students engaged at the end of the school year.
Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.
From the team here at ClassOrbit, we want to take a moment to remind each and every one of you that you are exceptional!
Today is "International Dance Day" and is celebrated every year on April 29th in honor of famous dancer Jean-Georges Noverre. The International Dance Day message aims to celebrate the artform and bring people together with a common language — dance.
Student leaders are an important element to the classroom community. Inspire students to become leaders by sharing How Leaders and Events Shape Communities, featuring well-known leaders, such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
This can be the time of year when students begin to feel antsy, especially after a 3-day weekend. Encourage your students to get back on track and maintain focus, while channeling their energy into learning, with ClassOrbit’s Mental Energizer video.
Do you plan anything around the national "Random Acts of Kindness Day" on Thursday, February 17th? Join us during this special day dedicated to keep kindness growing by planning to share random acts of kindness all throughout the day.
As we move into February and begin to enjoy all of the delicious Valentine’s Day treats that come our way, let’s teach our students how to care for their teeth.
Every February, the U.S. honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who helped shape the nation. Black History is American History.
We all know this is the time of year everyone sets resolutions, but do you understand the reasoning behind WHY goal setting should become a priority for not only yourself but for the students in your life?

...Winter! I don't know about you, but I had to grab my warmest jacket this morning before heading outside. Brrrrrr!!!!
Knowing there's only 3-4 weeks until winter break, sparking passion for reading and keeping that fire lit is crucial. Encouraging kids to read during the holidays and winter break can be an even bigger challenge...
This time of year always helps me to realize how grateful I am for educators like you. It is also a great time for YOU to reflect on all the amazing things you have done and continue to do for the students in your life.
Did you know Monday, November 8th is National STEM/STEAM Day? This is a day you'll want to celebrate with your students!
